Sickness aside, we have had some other thing going on here over the last couple of weeks.
We have a little peanut of a girl who is into some new stuff lately.
*Pulling off socks.
As terrible as it may sound, I tried putting a sock on her hand during bed-time to get her to stop sucking her thumb. Well, somebody is too smart for me, because she just pulls it off her hand and sucks away.
*Playing with feet.
Madison and Austin actually never played with their feet as babies, even though I always thought it was the cutest thing. But we've been showing Kamdyn her feet since she was a month old to get her to play with them. We even encouraged her by putting bright red nail polish on them.
*Playing with feet while screaming. Happy screaming, of course.
*And chewing on feet.
She loves her some feet. I guess my disgust for feet (except for my kids feet, theirs are cute) reversed on her with a love for feet.
*Perfecting the art of tri-pod sitting.
I can sense that there are good things to come in the sitting up front. You better believe there will be a broadcast when that storm rolls through. Ok, corny analogy, but we are eagerly anticipating Kamdyn sitting up.
*Someone's personality is really starting to shine through.
And she's a curious little bugger.
*Drinking from a straw! That's big stuff there.
I don't think my way of doing everything is right, but my goal with Kamdyn has been to introduce things around the time I can remember my other babies doing them. I guess that's the advantage of Kamdyn being my third. Since we were introducing self-feeding, I wanted to introduce her to drinking from a cup. Her OT said that we should skip the sippy cup and go to the straw, so we did. We were shocked that she got it so quickly and easily.
*A 3 year old who defies all the laws of naughtiness with stunts like this.
I guess he mistook his face for paper.
*Madison is amped up in her role as Mommy #2. At times, we have to remind her not to be too comfortable, ie. walking around the room while holding the baby. We have had a couple of near heart attacks, but she just loves her baby sister SO much.
Madison knows that Kamdyn is special. She will say that we are all special, but Kamdyn is more special. If I ask Madison why Kamdyn gets therapy, she says, "Because she is special." But she can't tell you how she's special. She just knows she is. And she's right. She's just special.
