Waking up on Christmas morning...........
This picture proves two things: Apparently, I have taught my children to not be morning people. And secondly, not even a pile of presents can make 6:00 in the morning look good to these kids.
It didn't take long for them to get excited, though.
Presents or not, this one is happy.....................
Things that have to written down on pieces of paper are usually pretty good...................
Justus used his own money to get the little kids each a present. He got a hug for that one.................
There were some grumpy moments..................
If this picture could talk, it would say, "Seriously, another picture?"
This one would say just about the same thing.
But there were mostly happy moments......................
The aftermath.......................
Then, off to Pop Pop and Mom Mom's house.............
Granddad comes too...................
Madison had been asking for her own computer. Uh, yeah right. But RaRa (my mom) came through and got her the Discovery kids laptop.
On Christmas night, we had dinner at our house with my mom and my brother and his family. The kids opened presents with their cousin, Alicia.
This picture was so blurry, it looked better to do it in black and white. The kids were ripping through their stuff so fast, it was hard to get a good picture.
Madison could not find it in her to take her juice box out of her mouth for yet another picture.
Finally, on the 26th (which is also Austin's birthday), we celebrated with Nan Nan (Brad's mom).
The birthday boy........................
We had a great Christmas. Of course, the kids were super spoiled. But the best part is being able to see all of our family and spend time with them.
One of my favorite things we did this year was have Madison and Austin memorize the Christmas passage from Luke 2. They worked really hard, and they did a great job.
Kamdyn says, "Haaaaaapy New Year!"

ReplyDeleteHow old is your little Kamdyn now? she is soooo adorable!!! please tell me more about her, I have a 9 month old little boy with DS... my first child I am 24 years old... i think i will start a blog as well :) ... you have encouraged me to share my story as well :) ... what are her favorite things to do? is she talking ? does she have trouble talking? how old was she when she started to walk? im sorry for the questions...
Cammy- no problem, i don't mind questions. Kamdyn is 20 months old. Kamdyn is a typical toddler at this point, getting into everything, tearing apart the tupperware drawer and emptying the clothes out of her drawers. Those are probably her favorite things to do. She also likes to eat, a lot lol. She actually is not walking yet. She gets physical therapy every week, and she is constantly making improvements in her skills. There are many kids with Ds who are walking by this age and others who are not. Gross motor has never been one of her strengths, but she has other strengths. A typical toddler at her age would say about 10-12 words, but Kamdyn can sign that many. Her only two spoken words right now are Mama and Dada, but she can sign many more words. Her expressive lanuage skills and social skills are also really good, meaning she makes sure we know what she wants, even though she is not saying it verbally. I would love to follow your blog is you start one. Let me know. And if you have any others questions, I'm happy to answer.
