Madison's ballet recital

Madison had her first ballet recital recently.  She loved putting on her costume, having her hair done, and putting on make-up.

While I was doing her hair, I had a little moment.  I said to her, "You know, one day, you'll be getting married, and we'll be doing this same thing."  She said, "Yeah, and I'll be like 15."  When I said, "Wow, 15, that's pretty young.  That's how old Justus is."  So she said, "Well, maybe when I'm 19."

Madison has the tendency to be shy and reserved, so I welcome any instance that allows her to spread her wings.

I'm hoping that she will continue to enjoy doing ballet, because it is a good confidence booster for her, and it forces her to have to put herself out there.  Not everyone can be outgoing, and I'm a perfect example of that.  But there will always be times, when you need to step out of your comfort zone.  So it's a good life skill for her to be able to get up on that stage and perform.

More importantly, of course, I just want her to have fun and enjoy it.

I think it turned out to be a special night for her.  We left Austin and Kamdyn with a babysitter (they never would have sat through such a long recital), and the night was all about Madison.  She had Mommy and Daddy and her grandparents all to herself.

She got her first bouquet of flowers.

Sometimes I feel sad that she is growing up so fast.  As the oldest (not including Justus), I often feel like time is flying by.  But I also love seeing her develop her own interests and passions.

Mommy and Daddy love you, Madison.  You are beautiful inside an out.
