Delivering Down syndrome diagnosis materials

A while back, I wrote a post: What I'm going to do instead of suing for $3 million.  In light of early genetic testing during pregnancy for Down syndrome, I approached our local Down syndrome support group and asked if they would be willing to purchase Down syndrome diagnosis booklets for the OB/GYN offices in our area.  They were completely on board, and Kamdyn and I were able to gather the materials and get to work.

Last month, we visited our last office and dropped off the last of our booklets, pamphlets, and letters.

Picture courtesy of my 6 year old.  Not bad, huh?

Now,

At the NDSC convention, we heard about a pamphlet that they are currently working on, and I'm excited to see that, as well.  When it comes out, it will be a great opportunity for me to follow up with these offices, find out how many of the materials they have used, and give them the new pamphlet.

  2. It is so great that you are doing this!!! I would love to do something like that! I will have to call our local Ds organization and see if they have something they are distributing.

    Great idea!

  4. Those are great pictures. I'm fascinated by the image your little girl holding the booklet open. (There is an interesting backstory to the ideology we used to create the photography in the booklet.)

And thank you for mentioning the digital version; we're especially proud of it and hope it is as useful as the print version has been.
