Patti from A Perfect Lily nominated me for a Liebster Award. I got one once before, but I never got around to doing it. So I'm giving it a shot now.
1. What's the last great book you read?
The book I can be found reading most often would be the Bible. I don't read it nearly enough, but I try. Growing up, I always hated reading, but a couple of years ago, I read these books (ahem, don't judge me), and I found that I really loved reading if I enjoyed the book. The last disability related book I read was George Estreich's book The Shape of the Eye. It was a slow start for me, but once I got into it, I loved it. The last fun book I read was the Hunger Games series. Sorry, but I liked the movie better.
2. Who would you most love to meet in blogland?
I've met a few bloggers. I actually get nervous about meeting people, though, because I'm kind of socially awkward, and I'm always afraid people won't like me. Then, since I'm nervous, I usually say something stupid. Like foot in mouth Why did I say that?! kind of stupid. But I'd be happy to meet any of my fellow bloggers.
3. What's your favorite go-to recipe for company?
My easy go-to for any time is baked ziti.
4. What's your favorite blog post that you have written?
It's hard to choose just one, but this is one of my favorites: What's the big deal?
5. How many blogs do you read a week? Name a few.
I try to read as many of the blogs on my dashboard as I can. I would like to comment more, but I don't always get around to that. Two of my favorites are Joy's Hope and Tales from the Motherhood. I have a lot of others that I read, but those two aren't DS specific. I'm diplomatic like that, because I don't like leaving people out : )
6. What do you hope people take away from your blog?
I'm at a place now, where I write mostly for myself, and I know my family enjoys reading updates too. But I also hope people leave with a positive impression of Down syndrome, but I don't specifically write for that, or I would never be able to post about struggles that we have. I hope I'm encouraging to other parents of kids with Down syndrome too.
7. What's your favorite ice cream flavor?
Mint chocolate chip
8. If today was your last day alive, what five things would you make sure to do?
Interesting question. I guess if I had the ability to do whatever I wanted to do and money wasn't an object, I would fly my family to a tropical paradise, spend the day hanging out with them, and eat whatever I wanted (lots of chocolate). We'd do things like scuba dive and swim with dolphins.
9. What bugs you about other people's blogs?
I don't like it when people pull things from other people's blogs, and then trash their opinion. Or using their blog to call people out and argue with them. I am blown away that people do that. It's crazy to me. C'mon people! Grow up! : )
10. Do you actually read my blog or skim for the pictures?
Patti, your blog is one that I read regularly. I really enjoyed a few of your recent posts that were from your heart that were faith and motherhood related.
For now, I'm not going to nominate anyone, because I guess I have to come up with questions if I nominate people. And since it took me sitting down 3 times just to write this out, I'm going to have to come back later to do questions.
And on a side note, I'm on Instagram at lifeisbeautifulblog if you want to follow. Lots of Kamdyn pics, so you can't go wrong there.
you Liebster, you !!! :) xoxoxo
