learning to deal

Today I was reminded that its not the events that occur that matter but how you choose to react to them.  Its the reaction to the action that will change and shape our lives.  Whether your disappointed over plans that didn't work out or a major life changing event in your life, its the reaction.

Maybe somewhere someones life is perfect.  They never forget the wipes when they go somewhere and have to ask a receptionist for those teeny, tiny antiseptic hand wipes; or their babies never super pooper all over their outfit, and they are once again reduced to asking the lady for more teeny, tiny wipes; and their plans of a nice evening out aren't cancelled, because their love is sick.  Maybe they can afford everything they want and everything always goes as planned.  Maybe somewhere babies don't have Down syndrome or holes in their heart.

But who wants a perfect life.  If there weren't circumstances beyond our control, there would be no growth, no learning, no thankfulness for all the blessings.

Its all the things that we don't plan, that we wouldn't choose that make it so wonderful.  Where would I be right now if my plan had worked out?  I don't even know. But it wouldn't be this place full of laughter, thankfulness, and love.

So thank you Lord for a perfectly designed by you, perfectly beautiful life.
