random babblings

We had a great weekend planned
with a lot to look forward to....

Pop Pop and Mom Mom came to celebrate Daddy's birthday.  They always bring so much love and joy with them.

Brad thought this was cute.

Looking up on Saturday, this was the heavenly sight.

Madison and I went to the store and bought an ice cream cake.  It reminded me how special it is to spend that one-on-one time, even if it's just taking a trip to the grocery store.

.....And there was singing....

.....And proud little ones.....

I guess we were on an ice cream kick, because Pop Pop took us for ice cream cones later.

Good, old Pennsyltucky

and Betty Boop, of course.

I was always intimidated by the thought of doing sign language with my kids.  I guess I'm an all-or-nothing kind of person.  I didn't just want to teach them a couple of words.  I would have wanted little sign language protigies.

But they don't need to be.
And since we are learning signs to help Kamdyn communicate later, we are just going to take our time and have fun with it.  I was surprised at how easily they pick it up.  A few days worth of Baby Signing Time, and they know at least 20 signs.

Here's Austin signing "eat".

Look! Kamdyn is doing it too!

Ok, so she's not really.  But it sure does look like it.  Good timing, baby girl.

Things like this could easily be a reminder of how our lives have changed.

But once again I am reminded of how everything that has come into our lives has only brought more love, more togetherness.  Together, as a family, we have taken on this on.  And when Daddy gets home, we proudly show him what signs we've learned, and we all learn together.

We're also getting ready to add a third therapy.
But it's this journey that has brought us together like nothing else could have.  And for that, I am grateful.

Plus, we get to have her.......

“Life has taught us that love does not consist in gazing at each other, but in looking outward together in the same direction”

So we'll keep heading on our journey.....
together
