We celebrate you today and every day. Happy World Down syndrome Day.

Dear Kamdyn,

I may not need a specific day to celebrate you, but it thrills my heart to think that people all over the world are celebrating the people with Down syndrome in their lives today. None of us may need a day, but what a perfect chance to show the world that people with Down syndrome are celebrated every day by the people that love them.

Before you were born, or even a thought in our hearts, God allowed us to bring three other lives into the world, your brothers and sister.  3 bright, shining lights to change the world forever.  And you are no different, baby girl.  You make the world a better place, a brighter place, more vibrant, more beautiful, more diverse.

You have changed me.

And even if I thought that it ended there, the change you have brought to my life would certainly be enough.

But I know better.

Your life has touched many.  Your existence makes the world more magical.  Your story adds pages of grace and faith.  Your smile cheers hearts.  You make the world better.  Every day. 

Your life matters.

Thank you for being you.
