I think these dresses look a bit like pajamas and a lot like a dress I would have worn in 1989, BUT I couldn't resist having the girls wear them, because they are matching. And because the one Kamdyn is wearing was Madison's dress when she was little.

Last year, we discovered the winter wonderland that is.................
BASS PRO SHOP.
There are a bunch of things for the kids to play with: a mechanical train, remote control truck, slot car race track, bow and arrows, and letters to Santa. And if you go during the day, there is hardly anyone there, and they pretty much have free reign. Score one for homeschooling.
Santa wasn't in yet the day we were there, so that's the only thing we missed out on.
Here's Austin's letter to Santa:

After I was done my shopping, he springs it on me that he wants a space station with a space ship. So I did what any self-respecting Santa would do. I took back what I had for him and got him the space station. Justus informed me that Caillou got a space station on the Christmas Caillou show, so it makes sense that Austin wants what his favorite TV character got for Christmas.
You may or may not remember this ones response to Santa last year.
We've only waved from afar this year, so I'm interested to see if we'll have a repeat of last year, or if she's warmed up to the jolly, old guy. Only time will tell. Either way, I'll have my camera ready.
A couple of the crafts we've done so far:
paper bag ginger bread houses:
wreaths:

We don't do the advent calender thing, but I think I might do that next year. Its easier for me if I think about ahead of time and have a plan. Otherwise, I'm in the back yard pulling branches off the trees.

We love Bass Pro Shop at the holidays!
ReplyDeleteOh man! I LOVE the photo of Kamdyn coloring. She is getting so darn big, it's blowing me away. And so beautiful. I can't believe how little she looked last year. Maybe she'll sit on Santa's lap soon. Cora's not altogether keen on Christmas stuff yet herself.
ReplyDeleteHaha, my sister and I had dresses very similar to the ones your girls are wearing back when we were little. I think they're cute :)
ReplyDeleteI loved the coloring picture as well, Kamdyn is really doing a fantastic job holding that crayon!
I LOVE to match Colin and Ben! I've never been to a Bass Pro Shop. I had no idea what I was missing!
