So, SO guilty! Raising my hand and waving it in the air like I just don't care! Sometimes it's just TOO much and something's gotta give. The way I look at it is that my kiddo will figure it out at some point (unless it's a medical thing--totally different). You are not alone AT ALL.
Great pic of her on the slide--she's definitely having fun.
I'm laughing. I just did this yesterday. There's too much pressure on the developmental stuff. Not that I don't think therapy isn't helpful, but why drive yourself nuts? I love the pictures!
So. . . I really want to say that I DO work on it, but er. . . well. . . not exactly. In speech, they give me the copies of the Kaufman cards. I don't do them. Those photocopies sit in my diaper bag. They are there right now. I am not a flashcard person (yes, yes I know that pics of my daughter show her with flashcards. She likes to CARRY the cards but do do not sit there in do them. Seriously, she doesn't sit). That being said, I do PROMPT with her outside of therapy. She has to work for baby, blankie, and whatnot. I do encourage signs and PEC use as well. I have to or I would have no idea what she wants. So, am I doing straight up therapy with Ellie? No. I just do everyday life :)
I am with Adrienne--the pictures! Oh I how I wants to squeeze her!
Guilty!!! Or I scramble 10 minutes before they get here and do it so I can honestly say, "Yes, I have done it'. :)
Sometimes there is just waaaay too much stuff going on. I have finally come to terms with the fact that I refuse to live my life doing therapy stuff all the time.
When Kamdyn was little, I felt like I had to sit and "do therapy" as much as possible. Now, like Anna said, we do life. I may not set up an obstacle course in my living room for Kamdyn to walk over, but I'll take her to the playground. I feel like its more meaningful that way. I'm glad I'm not the only one : )
Adorable post!!! I just reliezed you have a blog! Fantastic!! Ill be tuning in now! ;) and yes I am absolutely guilty on this! I have one month get my daughter completely potty trained and she is still in pull ups. lol.
That is so funny! And so us! I try I really do...but I always think we should do it funnier and in a more real live situation...Maddie gets so bored...cute pix! Smiles

ReplyDeleteTotally guilty! The therapists still give us lots of suggestions but most days we just play.
